John W. Navan

John Navan is a business professional with extensive domestic and international managerial experience, inclusive of five years living and working as an expat in Goa India, where he led a successful aerospace composites startup as Chairman of the Management Committee for Kaman Corporation. In addition to 20 his years of progressive growth with Kaman, John has also held Vice President roles with ALCOA, Brunswick Corporation, TIGHITCO and the Seitz Corporation, ultimately playing a key role in the divestiture of both the ALCOA (CT and CA divisions) and Brunswick (CT) divisions. John’s fully engaged teaching / leadership style has served both the teams and companies he supported very well, leading to the attainment of both business and team member goals and objectives. John has demonstrated that he is equally comfortable with either managerial or individual contributor roles, with extensive experience in project management, proposal management, contracts, business development and operational management, on both a domestic and international level.
John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Vermont (UVM), and three Master of Science (MS) Degrees, inclusive of an MS degree in Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s (RPI) Executive Master’s Program, an MS degree in Mechanical Engineering, also from RPI, and most recently (2018) an MS Business and Management Research degree from Henley Business School/ University of Reading in the UK, which was a waypoint during travel between the USA and India.
John and his wife live in Connecticut with their Jack Russell terrier (Abbey). John has been a lifelong distance runner, including high school track, UVM Division 1 cross-country, and road racing at distances from one mile to the marathon, including four Boston Marathons.
